IN THIS LESSON

Opening

As a practitioner, you are devoted.

You care.
You listen.
You witness growth and struggle.

Devotion is beautiful.

It also has limits.

Honoring your limits is not stepping back from care.
It is protecting the steadiness of your care.

The Wisdom of Limits

There will be moments when:

  • A story feels heavier than usual.

  • A client’s needs stretch beyond your scope.

  • You feel consistently fatigued before sessions begin.

  • You notice yourself hoping someone cancels.

These are not signs of failure.

They are invitations to pause.

You are allowed to:

  • Seek consultation.

  • Refer when needed.

  • Adjust your schedule.

  • Take intentional breaks.

  • Say no with grace.

Limits do not diminish your calling.
They preserve it.

Scope as Soul Care

Knowing what you are trained and called to hold — and what you are not — protects both you and those you serve.

It is not abandonment to refer.
It is discernment.

It is not weakness to step back.
It is wisdom.

Recalibration sometimes looks like rest.
Sometimes it looks like boundaries.
Sometimes it looks like asking for support.

All are honorable.

A Quiet Check-In

Ask yourself regularly:

  • Is my capacity steady?

  • Am I offering from fullness or from strain?

  • What adjustment would support sustainability right now?

Even small adjustments matter.

Recalibration is a good habit.

Closing Blessing for Practitioners

May you hold space with steadiness.
May you honor your limits without guilt.
May your devotion remain warm, not worn.
May your light endure.

You are allowed to tend yourself.
